RYA Day Skipper Sail Practical Course - RYA Weekly Sail Training Barcelona and Gibraltar

RYA Recognised Training Centre Power and Sail

RYA Day Skipper Practical for Power and Sail

A practical course: 6 nights aboard and 5 days sailing From £495

RYA Day Skipper Practical is a must for skippers who wish to take out their family and friends, the entry level to skippering and a minimum qualification.

Choose either of these fabulous sunshine locations, sail with dolphins from Queensway Quay Gibraltar (tidal sailing). Or sail along Spain’s unspoilt Costa Brava (non-tidal) anchoring in some of Europe’s most beautiful bays.

On completion of the Day Skipper practical course you will be able to skipper a yacht in familiar waters by day. Our instructors will teach you yacht handling under power and sail, tidal passages, basic collision regulations, sail trim and much much more.

* You should have the necessary level of skill required for Day Skipper theory prior to the course; if not you have the following options:

  • A two week combination course; covering all the theory and practical sailing, plenty of sailing every day, and a mix of theory as you progress through the course. (To receive the RYA Shorebased Theory Certificate at least 4 days must be spent in our classroom plus succesful exam completion).
  • a five-day theory course at either location in one of our modern, fully-equipped classrooms
