RYA Yachtmaster Prep & Exam

A respected qualification acknowledged worldwide. If you’re looking for a career, or MCA endorsement to allow for commercial charter work, this is the qualification for you.

We deliver RYA Yachtmaster Prep from our Palamos Base to the north of Barcelona at Club nautic Costa Brava Marina Spain - for this course you must have attained:

• Minimum of 2,500 sea miles half of which must be tidal
• A current VHF licence
• Five passages over 60 miles
• Two overnight passages
• Two passages as skipper
• Log books are required

Your theory must be at an outstanding level, no time for revising at this stage. If you have any doubt book onto the two week course and benefit from a thorough briefing before the exam.

Your revision course will cover all the aspects you need to refresh:

• Navigation to Coastal Skipper level
• Familiarity with your yacht
• Skippering and managing the yacht 'words of command'
• Single handed manouvres MOB and Mooring
• Sailing on and off a quay weather permitting
• Full safety talks includes
• Flares
• Liferaft
• Life jackets
• EPIRB
• VHF
• Diesel Engine familiarity
• Radar
